These black stud earrings are a popular choice for men and women. They’re designed to be gender neutral and make a great minimal statement. Measuring small at 9mm in diameter, they’re the perfect size if you’re looking for a small to medium sized stud with a shine free flat matte finish.
Stud Earrings Materials
Black stud earrings have no hanging parts and are a simple timeless round shape. At Flicka Handmade our earrings are primarily made from polymer clay and surgical steel.
Surgical Steel
Also known as 316L grade stainless steel, or marine stainless, this metal gives the earring back a superb silver look that is hypoallergenic and suitable for most sensitive ears. Many people with sensitive ears tolerate this metal alloy, however there are instances where hyper sensitive ears may still react. 316L stainless is made from an alloy of chromium, manganese, titanium, carbon, silicon, nitrogen and nickel in varying combinations. All steel contains some tiny amounts of nickel and we only source the highest quality to reduce any likelihood of irritation. Those people who are highly sensitive to nickel should consider another material for their earrings such a s sterling silver or gold.
